The Executive Hire Show 2008

We had a very successful 2 days at the 2008 Executive Hire Show at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry celebrating 110 years of manufacturing in the UK.

On display were samples from our extensive range of construction equipment including our range of Low Hand Arm Vibration Plate Compactors and Low Vibration Breakers.

Also on display was our new Vacuum Kerb Lifter which addresses the problem with manual handling heavy kerbs and slabs.

Members of our experienced Field Sales team were available on our busy stand to answer queries.

We look forward to seeing you at the Executive Hire Show 2009, Wednesday 4th & Thursday 5th February - Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

Don't forget to mark your diary.

HAND-ARM VIBRATION SOLUTIONS FROM FAIRPORT
20/03/2006
Fairport has spent the last 8 months developing new plate compactors and hydraulic breakers to provide solutions to the problem of hand-arm vibration.

Fairport has tackled the issue from the bottom up with the new Low HAV FPC320 plate compactor. This machine is completely new, allowing extended usage times and excellent handling.

"With all the talk about lower and lower vibration figures, the importance of usability is often ignored. That's why we designed the FPC320 as a low-weight machine for easy handling". John Eyre (Sales Manager).

The difference between a good machine and a great one is the end users choice. If the end user likes it, it will be on hire for longer and more often. The machine has to be safe to use and the vibration levels may need to get the approval of the safety officer for the periods that the machine is actually being used. The difference of being able to use a plate for 6 hours or 10 hours a day has to weighed against the ease of use that may be sacrificed. With all this in mind, the Fairport FPC320 is a truly portable plate weighing only 51kg, well within what is considered a reasonable two man lift. The vibration levels are low at 3.2 m/sec2 so can be given the green light in the HAE traffic light scheme. Included with the FPC320 are full protection frame, good looks, low vibration and a water tank option.

Fairport's latest low vibration hydraulic breakers will be launched soon. The Fairport breaker range currently consist of 4 models, 11.5kg, 16kg, 20kg and 25kg . The 16, 20 and 25kg are already available with low vibration handles of the pivoting handle type and can be retro fitted to Fairport standard breakers. The new development from Fairport is aiming to set a higher standard for breaker performance and low vibration. Using a more sophisticated engineering solution the operator has greater control, whilst the weight of the tool is used more efficiently to deliver higher performance.

MADE IN SHEFFIELD
18/10/2005
"Made in Sheffield" is a mark of quality for Fairport Construction Equipment Ltd.

The local expertise in steel machining and heat treatment is applied to all Fairport flexible drive vibrating pokers. The world beating 'Metrix' pokers are joined by new ranges to meet all the needs of hire companies and contractors.

Top of the range 'Metrix' pokers have such a long working life that the often abused flexible shaft has been made quick and easy to replace. This ensures these pokers spend less time in the workshop and more time on site making profits. Sizes include 28, 32, 50 and 65mm with 3, 5, 6, 8 or 10m shafts. In common with all Fairport pokers, you choose which interchangeable coupling is required to fit your power packs.

The 'W' range, available as 25, 36, 45 and 66mm are fitted with 5m flexible shafts as standard. The uniquely shaped and heat treated pendulum gives maximum vibration and working life.

The new pokers join Fairport's expanding range construction equipment, including poker power units, giving you a wider choice to match the needs of your business.

FAIRPORT LAUNCH NEW PLATES AT SED
01/01/2002
Fairport Construction Equipment launched the new range of low-hand arm vibration FPC single direction plate compactors at SED.

The demonstration area attracted many visitors to feel for themselves the difference these new plates make. At the Fairport factory in Sheffield the plates have been developed, built and then tested on a purpose built test track to the BS EN500-4 standard. The vibration levels are measured to BS EN 5349 using the latest SVAN 948 Tri-axial meter so customers can have confidence in the published figures.

In addition to the benefits of low vibration the plates feature low weight for easier manual handling, an engine protection frame and 'tool free' fitting of the optional water system or paving pad. Users have also commented on the positive control of the plate compared to 'sloppy' feel of some anti vibration systems.

Four machines make up the FPC range with 300, 320, 400 and 450mm base widths. The weights are 51, 52, 67 and 69kg with vibration levels of 2.87, 3.04, 2.60 and 2.87 m/sec2.The FPC300 has a Robin 3hp engine, the FPC320 has a Honda 3hp and the FPC400 and 450 use a 5.5hp Honda engine.

The popularity of the new range was evident by end of the first day, orders for 35 machines had been taken and a host of visitors had taken up the offer of free on-site demonstrations. The FPC plate compactors adds to the Fairport product range which includes, poker vibrators, power trowels, screeds, hydraulic packs and breakers, 'Goodenough' pumps, table saws and cutters.
